How the guitar notes quiz works

The quiz covers natural notes (A, B, C, D, E, F, G) on all six strings, from the open strings to fret 12. The guitar uses standard tuning: E–A–D–G–B–E, from the thickest string to the thinnest.

The diagram puts the thin high E string at the top and the thick low E string at the bottom. String 1 is the thinnest string. “Open” means you play the string without pressing a fret.

The challenge starts with open strings after a three-second countdown. You have 60 seconds to answer as many questions as you can. Three correct answers in a row, each within two seconds, move you to the next level. Faster answers and harder levels earn more points; your final score also rewards accuracy. Correct answers within 1.6 seconds count as perfect.

After each answer, check the feedback before the next question appears automatically. At the end, play again or share your score. Prefer a slower pace? Choose practice without a timer: there’s no question limit, and you decide when to move on or finish.
